Premier support for EnterpriseOne application release 8.12 ended April 30, 2011. Support now moves to Extended Support as detailed in the Oracle Lifetime Support Policy and on the Lifetime Support page.
Details specific to the end of 8.12 Premier support can be found at this link: https://support.oracle.com/CSP/main/article?cmd=show&id=1064056.1&type=NOT.
The biggest takeaway: losing Premier support means that new ESU's/fixes will not be created for the 8.12 release unless a customer has purchased Extended Support. Newly created ESU's will be made available only to those on Extended support. ESU's created prior to April 30, 2011 will be available to all customers paying for Sustaining support. Tax, legal and regulatory fixes will be made available to all customers until April 30, 2012. After that, only customers on Extended support will get the year-end ESU's for 2012 and 2013. Generally, fixes will not be sought nor developed for 8.12 as it begins to go dormant.
If you are on 8.12 it is time to start planning your upgrade if you have not already done so.

Hi Jeff,
I'm a little perplexed. I received a document from Oracle indicating those on 8.12 on "Extended Support" would receive Tax, Legal and regulatory updates until April of 2014. We use this for our T4's (Canadian).
In the same document a summary chart says "Tax, Legal and Regulatory" is actually April 2012.
I've opened a call with Oracle but that's a bit confusing..

Malcolm,
Thanks for commenting. There appears to be several disagreements in the various documents and this certainly clouds the issue.
In the document that contains the FAQ, https://support.oracle.com/CSP/main/article?cmd=show&id=1064056.1&type=NOT, it is stated:
"2. Will Year-End fixes for 1099s, W2s, and T4s be available for Fiscal Year 2011?
A year end update for all customers for Canada and the US will be delivered for 2011. Therefore, Reg/Leg SARs will be accepted until April 30, 2012, and an ESU available for those areas. All 8.12 customers get 2011 Year End support at no extra cost.
After that, for 2012 and 2013, you only get Year End support updates if you paid for extended support."
It is possible that the other docs referenced are for guidance but may be modified by EnterpriseOne-specific decisions. If that is so, Oracle needs to clearly state a summary of what, exactly, occurs with the expiration of Premier support. Instead, they seem too busy trying to ensure they sell Extended support.
I recieved an update from Oracle.
In essence, they said I would continue to get T4 data but only with the other caveats of Extended Support.
I'll have to double check but I think that means that some third party certifications are not upheld.
I'm not entirely surprised by these moves by Borgacle. Their database product from latest to de-support in a very short period of time, and they have always been aggressive about maintaining maintenance profits.
