Oracle Announces the Availability of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools 8.98

Oracle announces the release of its latest update for EnterpriseOne tools - Tools release 8.98 has been officialy made available as of September 25th, 2008.

Major features include:

• A new read only Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) driver
  
• Business Intelligence (BI) Publisher
  
• New utilities for Batch Monitoring
  
• Grid Focus Api's
  
• Object Management Workbench Quick Gets
  
• Virtualization Improvements:

"Beginning with 8.97.2 and continuing with 8.98, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne has been validated to run with Oracle VM."

• Delivery of ESU's as XML (No longer using Access databases to deliver ESU's)
  
• Utilities for batch processing
  
• Copy Environments utility
  
• Other improvements

Given the quality of E1 tools releases coming out of Denver this days I see 8.98 being a success and a welcome step toward higher quality software expected by ERP customers
